Nice to Meet You at Tea Chapter and Here's My Card - 21st Mar, Saturday – 5:00 p.m.

Free in the afternoon? Why not relax over a cup of nice tea in a cozy ambiance meeting many new friends. Come down and join us at Singapore's famous tea house - Tea Chapter to taste and learn the art of making a well-brewed tea. Tea Chapter is also a place visited by very important guests such as Queen Elizabeth 

Participants will be given cards to be presented to new friends as a way to introduce themselves. Information such as name and interest/hobby will be written on the card. In this way, participants can better remember each other's name, interest etc. They can do easy follow ups after the event. It has been proven that like minded individuals can resonate better and develop a better friendship and deeper relationship with time.

Facilitation will be provided for this event so that participants have a chance to talk to everyone. This will be a sit down event and participants will sit in groups with Speed Dating style rotation.

Fee: $30.00 (for sponsor of tea-break, dinner, games, prizes etc. for 260 patients. Includes $10 enrollment fee for dinner gathering event. Non-refundable. For those who indicate not going for dinner before the event, $10 enrollment fee will be donated).

*FREE for those who only join for volunteer event and not joining after event dinner. No enrollment fee involved. But donation of $30 is still payable as part of the charity contributions.

5.  Distribution of Ang Pow (Red Packet) to all old folks.

6.  Games and Prizes

7.  Serve Dinner to old folks.

8.  Volunteers Chinese New Year celebration dinner – 5:00 p.m. onwards.

Special Volunteers CNY Celebration: All volunteers/participants will bring 2 mandarin oranges for Lunar New Year greeting exchange during the after-event dinner. All are encouraged to participate. Volunteers are encouraged to wear Lunar New Year colours like red, pink or bright colours or floral to brighten up the event for old folks. 

I will conduct a briefing and introduction for new volunteers or volunteers new to elderly on actual day.

For those who want to find out more on volunteering, you are strongly encouraged to join. If you are first time and not comfortable, you can be observer.

Do not be worried about being pressured to perform. Taking the first step is already very encouraging. Just bring on your smile to them!

Though this is a volunteer event, I hope all of you can get to know more new friends through this activity as it is still a social event. There will be a gathering dinner for volunteers after the event. If you are unable to join for the dinner, please inform me earlier before the actual event.

Q: Is it a sleazy event? Cos I want a decent, friendly social meet-up. :)
A: Of course NOT. It is a decent and friendly gathering to meet more new friends! Players or indecent person will be asked to leave.

Amazing Race/Nature Walk at Botanic Gardens & Coffee @ Wheelock Place - 17th Jan, Saturday – 7:00 p.m.

Free in the Saturday evening? Why not join us for an Amazing Race at Singapore Botanic Gardens. Participants will gather for ice breaking session followed by Amazing Race. Participants will be given some task where they will need to complete based on the clues in Singapore Botanic Gardens. Participants will be assigned to different teams and let's see which team will become the final winner!

It will be a fun session while enjoying the romantic night scenery of Botanic Gardens, and get to meet new friends in Singapore’s very own natural environment. There will be facilitation for participants to know each other in this event.

Attractions include: The Bandstand where regimental bands used to play there in 1860s, Swan Lake, Ginger Garden, Evolution Garden, Waterfall etc. You can also bring your camera to take pictures of the scenery and attractions.

For those not in a hurry to go back, we will proceed for supper/coffee/tea/drinks (going dutch) after the nature walk at Orchard Area.
